@KurtisHanni @RobertMSterling I had the same thought! I've always disliked the term. Though I think a lot of the time it's used for the clients understanding (higher level strategy/analysis) as opposed to inflating the providers ego. I am not sure if any of my clients can tell you what fp&a is.

@andrewglynch On a side note, wouldn't AP being "garbage #'s" hurt the effectiveness of FP&A? Beyond not being your job I would find it deflating to realize the fundamental accounting is in such a poor state.

@scott_m_coley That's too bad. Scapegoating does seem par for the course, but austerity would be an impressive display of overcoming the "conservative dilemma' considering demographics and beneficiaries (Boomers & SS/MED or Trad fams & child tx cr). Thanks for writing the book!

My favorite tech addition this year has been the remarkable 2 tablet. I prefer writing a lot of notes and marking up financials, now I have all my drafts and notes electronically. Big fan.
