INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAINTS
But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.
Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.
For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.
Therefore do not be partners with them.
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light
– Paul of Tarsus, Apostle extraordinaire

If I were the one preaching and I said, as in the last line above, that believers should LIVE as children of light, & that they should not just confess they are children of light; If I said so, some deluded hypergracer would start convulsing and accusing me of advocating for Legalism.
If someone is angry when you repeat what the New Testament teaches, is that person an apostle or a fraud? Please, tell
“but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.”
Messi, you think you can sow discord in darkness and get away with it. But 6pm today, in the day… Light will rise upon the earth!
I don’t want to be that guy but see the number of people that came out to watch two super eagles players.
They won’t post videos of asian children making flying robots 😭😭
I hope the next generation of Nigerian parents really reduce the hurdles that culture imposes on you men and women that want to get married.
Early marriage is a good thing, and it should be really encouraged.
@NSawyer45 The point of the tweet is to point out that if you can thank your pastor for his love and labour, then why is it wrong to thank him for access? Because both labour and access are all duties of the pastor. If you can be thankful and appreciative for one, you can be for the other
We teach our kids to thank us after we’ve served them food.
I have a 4 year old and when I serve him food he is taught to eat and say “thank you dad for the food”.
He didn’t have to say “thank you” at 4 months and even at 4 years he won’t de denied food because he didn’t say “thank you” the last time.
At my age my dad still gives me stuff and I thank him profusely, I was the same one who he fed at 4 months, 4 years and now that I’m slowly approaching 40.
When we say “thank you” it tells more about the person that we are than about the responsibility of the person we’re thanking.
I’m a pastor myself and honestly understand that it’s the right of those I pastor to have access to me. However, I’ve noticed that people who are grateful for that access are often people who don’t abuse it.
Gratitude speaks more about who you are than what the responsibility of the object of gratitude is.
Read the gospels, Jesus commends gratitude as a virtue even though it wasn’t a condition for his benevolence.
When atheists or agnostics mention the problem of evil as a reason for their skepticism for the belief in God I’m genuinely curious.
If the God of the Bible does exist then evil is not an unsolvable problem.
Evil is only a problem when we believe life must have some ultimate meaning, and life only has an ultimate meaning if there’s a God that exists outside of finitude.
The atheist has to show how on atheism evil is a problem.
If matter is all that matters how is evil relevant? There’s no evil inherent in the interactions between a proton and an electron. The electromagnetic force has no moral value.
If we can debate about the problem of evil it is because we believe life has to have some sort of meaning and meaning is not something that is material.
If I’m to quote Richard Dawkins:
“The total amount of suffering per year in the natural world is beyond all decent contemplation. During the minute that it takes me to compose this sentence, thousands of animals are being eaten alive, many others are running for their lives, whimpering with fear, others are slowly being devoured from within by rasping parasites, thousands of all kinds are dying of starvation, thirst, and disease. It must be so. …In a universe of electrons and selfish genes, blind physical forces and genetic replication, some people are going to get hurt, other people are going to get lucky, and you won't find any rhyme or reason in it, nor any justice. The universe that we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but pitiless indifference.”
If Dawkins is right then Atheists and agnostics cannot legitimately use the problem of evil to argue against God without first borrowing the foundation in which they argument must stand from God. If all you were doing was observing the atom you will not see good or evil.
Good has to exist for evil to exist. If there is no good there is no evil.
And if there is no God there is no good.
How does the atheist then ground evil as a legitimate problem without a framework he must get from God?
Also, the people who have experienced the greatest suffering have been found to be people with the strongest faith in God, because ultimately through their suffering they have hope that one day everything will be taken care of.
This hope is often grounded in a God that has been proven to be faithful, so that even though faith has evil is a problem, God will ultimately take that problem away.
In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit".
