As Quebec’s election campaign comes to an end, we remind you that our presumptive next premier said the N-word on live TV during a 2022 election debate, and successfully goaded the leader of the province's most progressive party to do the same.

More private, for-profit healthcare leads to higher mortality rates and lower life expectancy.
Quebec should focus on creating a more functional public healthcare system that benefits us all, not a two-tiered model with more privatization.

A large majority of Quebecers don’t want a referendum, yet the Parti Québécois has pledged to hold one even with a minority government.
More evidence that the PQ doesn’t actually care about the will of Quebecers.
It’s all about division.

PQ leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon plans to make it illegal to insult police officers across Quebec, referring to Montreal’s new anti-insult ban as a “starting point.”

@javier078 Yeah, the movie’s amazing. Loved it!
Possible it’s upsetting the same people it calls out? I can’t imagine the right and big oil are happy about it. (Not saying there’s a smear campaign, but surprised considering how good it is.)
@woolyonezeez Literally nothing I said blamed anyone other than politicians for enabling this greed??
Let me be clear: landlords won’t suddenly stop being greedy. Cities/provinces need regulation to limit avg. rents to wages. A rent freeze is not enough — rents must come down significantly.
@woolyonezeez That’s common sense and why we should all be angry. Rents growing 7x faster than wages isn’t nuance. This literally determines our quality of life. There should already be regulations in place to limit price gouging on essentials and landlord greed. The system’s not working.
@woolyonezeez And actually saying that François Legault and Valérie Plante are fucking victims here?! Wake tf up, you clearly don’t live here. They’re literally despised because of this.
@woolyonezeez Again, nothing Carney does will do a damn thing until cities and provinces enact legislation to restrict landlord greed. I don’t expect landlords to suddenly stop being greedy assholes who don’t give af about the people they live off of. Cities and provinces have enabled this.
@woolyonezeez Nothing Carney does will solve the housing crisis. 25K housing units sit empty in Montreal and rents are still not adjusting. Supply and demand is complete bullshit in the housing market. Cities and provinces need to do their jobs and start regulating average rents to wages.
@woolyonezeez Sadly that’s impossible. There’s no chance we’ll ever be able to hold the feds accountable for Montreal’s exploding rent-to-income ratio. It’s completely unrealistic for many reasons. We can however blame our out of touch premier and mayor for not reigning in landlord greed.
