I'm an advocate of biblical localism. By this I simply mean giving priority to the time and place God put you. Here are six area of focus for the Christian localist...

1. Emphasize a doctrine of household

What's more local than your home? Now your home shouldn’t just be a place to eat, stream, and sleep. It’s should be a place of productivity. This can take the form of family discipleship, side hustles/businesses, Christian hospitality, etc.

2. Emphasize a doctrine of vocation

Your job isn’t drudgery. It’s a local ministry and opportunity to bring good to others and glory to God.

3. Emphasize a doctrine of place

Your “place” matters. God has determined to put you when and where you are in history. Trust His wisdom and love where He has put you. I love Clermont County, Ohio. Where has God put you? Ask, “How can I honor God in this particular place?”

4. Urge Christians to co-op existing programs and third places

Is there a good coffeehouse, gym, or sports program in your community? If so, there is no need to create something new and “explicitly Christians.” Just join what exists. Be salt and light.

5. Urge Christians to start companies in the local community There is incredible culture-making power in businesses run according to biblical principles. They bring in jobs and they directly shape the culture of those whom they employ and service. What business is lacking in your community? Start one.

6. Urge Christians to take full advantage of their US citizenship Paul took advantage of his Roman citizenship. So should Christians. Vote according to a Scripture-shaped conscience. Run for office and rule in a godly way. Show up council meetings. Become mayor. Make use of your freedoms for good of the church and those in your community.

It’s crazy how many libs in red states can’t connect how good their life is to conservative policies. Just had a great convo with a driver, who was black, about how great Florida is and how silly the NAACP “travel advisory” is. He lived 32 years in New York and said he didn’t realize how good and free life could be until he moved to FL, because he was in a constant state of stress, anger, & distrust living in NYC. Now, he says he’s thankful for the space, freedom, and friends he has. He’s so much happier. Then… at the end of our convo, he said politicians should stop messing with Disney, that whatever schools want to teach kids is fine, and that there’s *too much* freedom in Florida because there are too many guns. I told him he should go back to New York then! We both laughed and it was cordial, but the disconnect is pretty sad

This is not a difficult challenge. Here are my replies:

1. It's a man's maleness that makes it inappropriate for him to enter a women's restroom or lockerroom, not his appearance. A man who looks like a woman is still a man.

2. If the standard is appearance, most men who identify as women would fail the test. They typically look like ridiculous caricatures of women.

3. It's not a matter of letting them "be who they are" because they are not actually women. A woman is not "any person who wears a dress and puts on lipstick." A woman is an adult human female. If you are not female, you are not a woman.

4. If it's important to make people "feel more comfortable," then why should the comfort of a few be considered over the comfort of many? There are far more women who are uncomfortable with men entering their private spaces than there are dysphoric men who are frustrated by the denial of access.

5. The final point about how women should pee in the woods if they're uncomfortable contradicts the previous sentence. This is blatant lopsided concern for the comfort of the few at the expense of the many.

6. Reality is uncomfortable for people who dislike reality. But for the sake of sanity and safety, we should choose to live in reality, anyway. Truth matters more than anyone's comfort.

Ultimately - kids cannot be responsible for their own safety.
