❗️🇵🇭⚔️🇨🇦 - On April 26, 2025, a 30-year-old man drove a black SUV into the Lapu Lapu Day Block Party in Vancouver, Canada, killing nine and injuring several at around 8:14 p.m. near East 41st Avenue and Fraser Street.

The festival, celebrating Filipino heritage, was ending when the vehicle struck attendees at 100 km/h (62 mph) in a pedestrian-only area.

Bystanders detained the driver, a Vancouver resident known to police, until authorities arrived. Terrorism was ruled out, with possible mental health issues as a motive.

Vancouver General Hospital and other facilities treated the injured, including a child, under mass casualty protocols.
