If you’re in your 20s, put your head down and stop waiting for motivation or waiting for an accountability partner. Learn to do things alone. Learn to keep promises to yourself and keep going even when nobody is watching.

Shun mediocrity and don’t become comfortable with “good enough.” Set a standard for yourself that you’re proud of, then keep raising it.

Well, let me tell you what anyone looking at my application packet took away:

- Undergrad: BGS and Valedictorian from a University that uses psychometric assessments to select the best students from Africa

- During my undergraduate studies I had interned in 3 top organizations: as the first ever intern at GTB corporate bank division, KPMG, and Andersen. I also co founded an initiative that won the QYL award

- Immediately after undergrad, I resumed a full time role in an insurtech and raised/managed over $12M and impacted over 1M households across 16 countries (in the 3.6years that I worked, I left as the Business Development Lead and was the youngest manager in the No.1 insuretech in EA.)

Organizations like the FAO, BMGF, Shell Foundation, the WB had either done a profile on me, invited me to speak or published my work

I had also been seen in multiple national presidential villas (including Nigeria) as I was designing national disaster risk models

I think they saw conviction, resilience, commitment to excellence and positive change on human lives. It was a profile 8 years in the making.

It was also because I left secondary with a desire to not be held back by my background, so at 17, I wrote a 10 year plan and did everything that I demanded of myself.

@Tobore__ The sad thing is, the insecurity is the trade-off for its affordability. The moment it becomes a more secure region, their cost of living would rise drastically. More people would move there, more business would open, etc.
