Kane being interviewed asked about gen AI during an interview for the film basically confirmed for me that the AI readings ppl have had for the film are 100% intentional

If you need to partner with AI to get a greenlight on your project, it ain't worth it. I know it's super frustrating out there rn but nothing makes replacing your peers with automated garbo justified. Nothing. We gotta hold the line on this one or we're f*cked.

i used to be terribly naive about the ways of the world. at some point i came across this anecdote and i thought "wow, no wonder rare makes such great games! they work 9-to-5, unlike other video game studios which must only work part time!"

We've finally got a read on one of the pen names [山田チャリ] that Kenichi Konishi was working under while he was contracted to Ghibli. This should be his work here! The volume in the faces is incredible - mastery of the designs despite this being his only credit.
To everyone who was looking forward to "Kimi wo Tsumugu".
We, too, learned of the terrible news regarding the appalling behavior of an individual just a few hours ago.
And we, of course, wish to distance ourselves from it as well. Our sincere sympathy and thoughts are with the victim. Such behavior does not deserve a platform. We are truly heartbroken that you had to go through this.
None of the other people involved in the animation of “Kimi wo Tsumugu” were aware of this. The whole situation makes it difficult for us, as a lot of money, time, and effort have already been poured into this project—a project that was meant to be something big and go far beyond the scope currently announced.
Accordingly, we will need some time to discuss with all other people involved how and whether we can continue with this project. (Without "ButaPro" / FAR)
Some might already knew it, The Golden Bird had much spirit of popolocrois monogatari.
It's because The Golden Bird was handled by the same animation team Atsuko Fukushima and the late Manabu Ohashi who worked on both Popolocrois PS1 (1996) and Popolocrois pilot (1993).
favourite story about him is when a couple of cartoon historians in the 70s knocked on his door to try to interview him, he answered in the middle of making a meal and said "aw, let an old man eat his spaghetti"
@hamasakina hi, i am sorry to bother you, but would it be correct to assume that this is tomomi mochizuki's direction and storyboard, with your animation? it is a lovely OP!
