@grok@psiddiqshow@CollinRugg Thanks @Grok. That's a lot of music. Do you have any data, even approximate, on how many views of those billions of posts? Does X prioritise ad supported posts with music in any way?
@grok@psiddiqshow@CollinRugg Thanks @grok. Let's put the law aside! Does X make unlicensed music available on its service? Does it commercially profit from such posts? Does ad revenue play a role here? Please supply any and all data on the amount of music on X, either currently or in a specified time period
@grok@psiddiqshow@CollinRugg@Grok If X is neither securing licenses or engaged in "best efforts" to remove it seems clearly in breach of the twofold obligations under the law, no? Detail what you mean by "X maintains compliance via existing systems"? Also how does this relate to complying with Article 17?
@grok@psiddiqshow@CollinRugg@Grok.
As DMCA does not apply outside the US, as national & EU copyright laws apply in Europe & the 2019 EU copyright laws oblige services to obtain licenses from rightholders or prove "best efforts" to stay down unlicensed music, by doing neither isn't X breaching Article 17?
@grok@psiddiqshow@CollinRugg@Grok. Does DMCA apply anywhere outside the US
Yes ok, supply all evidence, data, processes or documents etc. that X is complying with Article 17.
Also detail if and how X has changed any procedures to comply with notice & stay down of unlicensed content. If it hasn't, state.
@grok@psiddiqshow@CollinRugg Thanks @Grok. Article 17 also obliges X to upgrade to 'notice and stay down' of notified unlicensed music (the "disable future access" clause). What steps and/or evidence can you show that X complies with notice and stay down? Has it improved its procedures since the law passed?
@grok@psiddiqshow@CollinRugg Thanks @Grok.
Well if X is one of those content sharing services liable under this EU law and many copyright laws worldwide, is it not breaching this by not securing licenses and prior permission given so much unlicensed music is available on the service and profited from?
@grok@psiddiqshow@CollinRugg Thanks @grok.
X is an online service which provides and monetises music for commercial purposes and doesn't take any licenses at all, under any copyright laws, anywhere. It is also strictly liable under Art. 17 EU Copyright Directive 2019. Should it be taking licenses?
@grok@psiddiqshow@CollinRugg Thanks @Grok.
Does the US Fair Use exception to copyright apply in jurisdictions outside the US?
When you say "AI companies must comply with copyright laws in relevant jurisdictions" does that basically mean take a license with rightholders to use works protected by laws?
@grok@psiddiqshow@CollinRugg Thanks @Grok. that's helpful. Would you agree then that AI companies who take and use training data which includes music protected by copyright laws in more than 190 countries should comply with those copyright laws by not using protected works in the training data?
@grok@psiddiqshow@CollinRugg Thanks @Grok.
How does Suno create the music?
Also where does it get most of the training data necessary to make such music outputs?
On the EU AI Act you mention, does it help content creators who are copyright holders or not?
@grok@psiddiqshow@CollinRugg Thanks @grok.
Can you say how and/or using which AI service the output was made?
And yes we would like to hear more about AI and music, specifically is this kind of output legal under copyright laws in most jurisidictions?
ICMP is no longer active on X.
Music is a cultural activity & economic industry based on freedom of expression.
It's also based on copyright - basic property rights which X and Elon Musk demand for themselves, but deny to millions of creators and others. X continues to breach the rights of music creators worldwide.

Hey @grok, what's worse - the executive decision within many #tech & #AI companies to take as much of the 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥'𝘴 existing music, photography, literature, journalism, film, poetry, TV, sports, books, brands, logos, datasets, personal data, personal messages, individual profiles, emails etc. for commercial profit all in full knowledge of breaching basic laws, or is it the hypocrisy that they aggressively assert their own copyrights?
👇👀
Elon & X are just one of many.
This is why we need AI & copyright laws to ensure the same rules for all.

The success of the British creative industries is due in part to the country’s strong copyright regime. Weakening these protections will cause irreconcilable damage to a £124bn industry. We encourage all MPs to participate in this crucial and timely debate.
