اللهم إنّها كانت رحيمةً بنا، فاجعل رحمتك تحتضنها في قبرها، وبلّغها أعلى مراتب النعيم
اللهم إنّها كانت لنا أمانًا ودفئًا، فاللهم اجعل الجنّة دار أمنها وطمأنينتها الأبدية

Grieving the loss of the person who loved me the most in the entire world

One year into the war in Sudan, @HamidMurtada wrote: "One year on, I continue to feel uprooted, struggling to establish a new life, while I continue dreaming about returning home."

Thinking about these words today as his body makes the journey back to be buried in Khartoum. 💔

He was a brilliant mind, brave and courageous, and one of the finest Sudanese youths of his generation. Those who knew him, or even encountered his words, could easily feel his sincerity, honesty, and deep commitment to truth. He is a great loss!

His research and writing were always illuminating, helping others see beyond confusion. May we remember him not only with sadness, but with gratitude for his work, dedication, and example.
