That’s Steph Curry’s 44th game of 40+ points since his 30th birthday. Ties him with Michael Jordan for the most in NBA history after turning 30. Did it both nights in San Antonio. His first back-to-back 40-point games since 2022.
@theFrostmind@Harrycarry12 @charliedenison3 @micah_erfan I was looking for numbers/thresholds for when you consider a country to be multicultural.
But, it sounds like you're more focused on morals and not culture.
Multicultural is multicultural. You can't just say something and then ignore the ones that don't fit your definition.
@theFrostmind@Harrycarry12 @charliedenison3 @micah_erfan You still haven't told me what your definition of multicultural is. I'm going to guess it's an arbitrary cutoff that supports your opinion.
@theFrostmind@Harrycarry12 @charliedenison3 @micah_erfan What's your definition of multiculturalism? Are there specific numbers you go by?
Immigrants make up 23% of Canada's population, and multiculturalism is an actual national policy of theirs.
@theFrostmind@Harrycarry12 @charliedenison3 @micah_erfan I imagine it's due to social factors that lead to suicidal tendencies. If more people are suicidal, the suicide rate could increase, even if the lack of guns do deter a portion of these people.
@theFrostmind@Harrycarry12 @charliedenison3 @micah_erfan Do you have a source for that? Are there no multicultural societies that disprove your claim, such as Canada or Switzerland?
@theFrostmind@Harrycarry12 @charliedenison3 @micah_erfan There was ‘no evidence of substitution effect for suicides or homicides’ following Australia’s gun law reforms. The authors also note that the ‘declining rate of suicide by firearms accelerated… with there being no apparent substitution by other methods. https://t.co/qr4iOVVydC
@theFrostmind@Harrycarry12 @charliedenison3 @micah_erfan You're the one who originally asserted that gun control can't work. You have the burden of proof.
Also, go ahead and give me the "accurate" stats based on how other countries define a mass shooting. If my perception is skewed, correct it with facts/numbers.
@charliedenison3 @theFrostmind@Harrycarry12@micah_erfan I don't see how Chicago is proof it couldn't ever work, which is what they seemed to be implying.
One city without guns in a country with guns... I'm not surprised that was unsuccessful.
@theFrostmind @charliedenison3 @Harrycarry12@micah_erfan Way to ignore everything I said other than "old."
Either way, one older person being a threat suddenly means all old people are capable of assassinating someone? Great logic.
@theFrostmind@Harrycarry12 @charliedenison3 @micah_erfan I mean, it's worked pretty well for Australia and the UK.
You wanna provide evidence that any form of gun control can't ever work?
@theFrostmind @charliedenison3 @Harrycarry12@micah_erfan How confident are you in a teacher's ability to neutralize a threat? How about if the teacher doesn't want to carry a gun? How about if the teacher is older, or not the most mobile, or is simply caught off guard because they're, you know, in the middle of teaching children?
@theFrostmind@Harrycarry12 @charliedenison3 @micah_erfan Ok, and if most or all teachers leave them at home, what then? And who is paying to arm and train (and re-train) these teachers?
There's evidence that guns bans/restrictions do work, so saying flat out that it can't work comes across as extremely biased.
@charliedenison3 @theFrostmind@Harrycarry12@micah_erfan Sorry, I replied before seeing this post. I can agree to disagree - civil chats are always appreciated.
