SOLID BLOC 11: ALAN PETER CAYETANO RESIGN!
What happened today was a clear abandonment of responsibility, a dereliction of duty, and a blatant disregard of the rules that govern this institution, because the Senate cannot be made to stop working simply because its presiding officer refuses to lead.
Under Rule XIV, Sec. 41 of the Rules of the Senate, the Senate President may postpone the holding of the session AFTER consultation with the Majority Leader AND the Minority Leader. That rule was violated. This is not merely a procedural lapseโit is a direct violation of the Rules of the Senate and a serious disrespect for the institution and the Filipino people.
Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano SHOULD RESIGN as he has shown that he cannot function as the leader of the Senate.
UPDATE: PNP-CIDG says it will refer a complaint for obstruction of justice before the DOJ against Sen. Robin Padilla and others accused of helping Sen. Bato Dela Rosa evade authorities on May 14.
According to the CIDG, its investigation found Dela Rosaโs transport from the Senate was a โhighly coordinatedโ and pre-planned escape maneuver, not a simple hitch ride.
Authorities also alleged another vehicle acted as a security escort and backup car.
โWhen individuals actively interfere in the arrest or assist in the evasion of criminal offenders to avoid prosecution, it undermines the justice system and compromises public order,โ the CIDG said. | via @_KarenDeGuzman

18 Narra trees can be found in our street alone here in Mandaluyong. This time every year I look forward to their flowers blanketing our street yellow. Today I just saw another big one behind our studio office (still in the same baranggay!)
Firm believer ako that you cannot solely break the system from the outside.
We should internally disrupt the system. Tayo dapat ang maging anay ng bulok na sistema. And we can only weaken it if we get access to it. Systems are rarely changed thru complete detachment.
