Islam teaches a different response.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Show mercy to those on the earth, and the One above the heavens will show mercy to you.”
And he ﷺ said:
“Make things easy and do not make things difficult. Give glad tidings and do not drive people away.” (Muslim)
Then he added softly:
“Shaytan wants you to stay away because of a mistake. Don’t give him that victory.”
The man lowered his gaze and said nothing.
His eyes filled with tears, and he quietly nodded.
This time, after salah, the imam called him over.
The man braced himself, expecting another harsh reminder.
Instead, the imam smiled and said:
“We’ve all had moments like this. Next time, just double-check your phone before salah. You’re always welcome here.”
He didn’t go to the masjid for some days.
That evening, he sat alone, still replaying the incident in his mind.
After some time, he gathered the courage and went back to the masjid again.
He released a long breath as he stepped inside… his heart heavy, but hopeful.
A man entered the mosque.
He forgot to turn off his phone, and it rang during the prayer.
After the salah, some people harshly scolded him. You could see shame and humiliation on his face.
After this incident, no one ever saw him in the mosque again.
Especially when life teaches you that even heartbreak can carry hidden mercy.
Because Allah doesn’t waste love -
He uses it to write wisdom on your heart.
Because not every love story is meant for a lifetime. Some are meant to change you, awaken you, and return your heart back to the One who created it.
Remind yourself:
What’s meant for me will never miss me.
Maybe they came to reveal parts of yourself you never noticed. Maybe their leaving brought you closer to Allah. Maybe what felt like heartbreak was actually protection and redirection.
But then… it falls apart. And that’s when you realize not every connection was written to last forever.
Sometimes Allah allows two hearts to meet not for permanence, but for growth. Some people enter your life to teach lessons your soul would never learn any other way.
Sometimes, you pray for it. You dream about it. You truly believe,
“This must be the one.”
And for a while, everything feels right - the bond, the connection, the hope growing quietly in your heart.
Me realizing…
Sometimes Allah allows certain people into our lives, not so they stay forever,
but so we learn, grow, and return closer to Him.
“So you do not grieve over what escaped you, nor become overly attached to what He has given you.” Surah Al-Hadid (57:23)
