インスタントハウス in 氷川町✊✊

ほんの数秒、数分の間に、世界は時々、理不尽なほど容赦なく、思い出がいっぱい詰まったおうちも、大切にしてきたぬくもりも、すべてをひったくっていく。
自然の怒りを止める術を、私たち人間はまだもっていません。
今、熊本地震で震度7を記録した氷川町にいます。
崩れてしまったご自宅の前で、あるいは、窮屈な車の中で、じっと夜を越えている人たちがいます。
日本に住む人たちのその我慢強いメンタリティは本当に美しくて、でも、今はそれがたまらなく痛い。
こんなに狂おしいほどの暑さの中で、もうこれ以上、我慢なんてしない社会であってほしい。
心と体が悲鳴を上げて限界を迎えてしまう前に、未然に防げる悲しみは、全部私たちが先回りして食い止めたい。
数秒で日常を奪い去っていく、圧倒的なスピード。
だったら、せめて私たち人間は、それが奪っていくのと同じスピードで『差し出せる手』をもっていなきゃいけない。
そうじゃないと、あまりにも割に合わないじゃないか。
ここ最近、甚大な被災地や戦災紛争地を駆け抜ける中で、その想いはもう、私の中で揺るぎない確信に変わりました。
外の景色がどれだけ理不尽な運命に満ちていても。
このインスタントハウスの中だけは、私たちの手で優しく、確かにコントロールできる。
たったそれだけの、小さな小さな事実。
でも、運命に思いきり突き飛ばされた人たちにとって、
その小さな空間がどれほどの安心と、明日への呼吸になるか。
今はまだ、建築が自然に勝てるだなんて思ってないけど、これは、このどうしようもない世界に対する、私たちなりの、精一杯の抵抗であり、祈りなのです。
一時間でも、一日でも早く。
おひとりでも多くの被災者の皆様の心と身体が、ふっと息を吐ける場所を届けるために。
今日も限界までアクセルをベタ踏みにして、走ります！

Instant House in Hikawa Town✊✊

In just a few seconds, a few minutes in the blink of a god's eye, the world sometimes, ruthlessly and unreasonably, snatches away everything. Homes overflowing with memories, the precious warmth we've cherished... all of it.
We humans do not yet possess the magic to stop the fury of nature.
Right now, I am in Hikawa Town, a place that recorded a devastating seismic intensity of 7 during the Kumamoto Earthquake.
There are people silently enduring the night right in front of their collapsed homes, or squeezed into cramped cars.
The resilient, patient mentality of the people living in Japan is truly beautiful, but right now, it is unbearably painful to witness.
In this maddening heat, I long for a society where no one has to just "endure" anymore.
Before their minds and bodies scream out and reach their breaking points, we want to stay one step ahead and stop all the tragedies that can be prevented.
The overwhelming speed that strips away our everyday life in mere seconds.
If that's how it is, then at the very least, we humans must have a "hand to reach out" at that exact same speed.
Otherwise, it’s just too unfair, isn't it?
Lately, as I’ve rushed through severely devastated disaster areas and war-torn zones, that initial thought has solidified into an absolute, unshakable conviction within me.
No matter how deeply the world outside is stained with an unreasonable fate.
Inside this Instant House and only here, we can gently, surely control the environment with our own hands.
It is just a single, tiny fact.
But for those who have been violently shoved off their feet by fate, imagine how much comfort, how much breath for tomorrow, that small space can bring.
I don't yet believe that architecture can defeat nature. But this is our utmost resistance, our desperate prayer against a world we cannot always control.
Even an hour, even a day sooner.
To deliver a place where the minds and bodies of as many survivors as possible can finally let out a long sigh of relief.
Today, once again, I’ll floor the accelerator to the absolute limit and keep running!

After consulting with the residents and town office staff of Hikawa Town which has suffered significant damage, we will begin the first phase of delivery on Saturday, August 1st, starting at 8:00am. We will deliver five Instant Houses within the town initially, followed by dozens more✊✊✊

昨夕の地震を受け、今朝早くから熊本に入っております。
このたびの地震により被害に遭われた皆様に、心よりお見舞い申し上げます。
10年前の熊本地震の際も、発災から数日後に現地へ入り、家屋や街の姿が失われてしまった光景を目の当たりにしました。今回、改めて発災翌日の現地を歩き、被災された方々の安否や、建物の被害状況の確認を進めております。
今回現地に入り、まず実感したことは、この10年間で街や家屋の「強靭化」が着実に進んでいるという事実です。これはひとえに、自治体や住民の皆様の、復興に向けた並々ならぬご尽力の賜物です。局所的な建物の損壊は見受けられるものの、大規模な倒壊によって命が失われる危険性は、10年前と比較して大きく減少しているように感じられます。
一方で、発災後の「生活環境」については強い危機感を抱いています。現在、コンビニやホームセンター、飲食店など、生活の要となる場所がほぼ閉鎖されており、市民の皆様の先行きの生活が大変危ぶまれる状況です。また、余震への不安から車中泊を選択される方が非常に多く、ガソリンスタンドには給油を求める長い車列ができています。
10年前の記憶が皆様の脳裏に焼き付いており、「再び大きな地震が来るのではないか」という深い恐怖と不安を抱えていらっしゃいます。さらに、現在の被災地は過酷な猛暑に見舞われており、数分おきに救急車のサイレンが鳴り響くなど、熱中症をはじめとする心身への健康被害も極めて深刻です。
こうした事態を受け、私たちは平時から開発を進めてきた「インスタントハウス」を、必要に応じて即座にお届けできる体制を整えて現地入りしています。現在、各避難所を巡回し、行政の皆様とも連携を図りながら支援のニーズを細かく確認しております。
避難所内のプライバシーを守る「インスタントルーム」や、屋外に設営でき、断熱性に優れ涼しく快適で丈夫な「インスタントハウス」が、この猛暑と不安を少しでも和らげる一助になればと願っております。
今後も被災された皆様の生の声に真摯に耳を傾け、お一人おひとりの心にできる限り寄り添いながら、今、本当に必要とされている支援を迅速に届けてまいります。
災害関連の症状を少しでも減らし、安心して身体と心を守れる復旧時の住環境をお届けすべく、チーム一丸となって最大限に尽力いたします。
どうか、これ以上の被害が広がりませんように。皆様のご安全と安心を、心より祈っております🙏🙏🙏

Following the earthquake that struck yesterday evening, I have been in Kumamoto since early this morning.
I would like to express my deepest sympathies to everyone affected by this disaster.
During the Kumamoto Earthquake 10 years ago, I visited the area a few days after the disaster and witnessed the heartbreaking reality of homes and towns that had been lost. Today, the day after this new earthquake, I am once again on the ground, checking on the safety of the people and assessing the damage to buildings.
The first thing I realized upon arriving is that the "resilience" of the towns and houses has steadily improved over the past decade. This is undoubtedly the result of the extraordinary efforts toward recovery made by local municipalities and residents. Although there is localized damage to buildings, the risk of losing lives due to large-scale collapses seems to have decreased significantly compared to 10 years ago.
However, I feel a strong sense of crisis regarding the post-disaster living conditions. Currently, convenience stores, home centers, restaurants, and other essential lifelines are almost entirely closed, leaving citizens in a highly precarious situation regarding their daily lives. Furthermore, many people are choosing to sleep in their cars due to the fear of aftershocks, resulting in long lines at gas stations.
The traumatic memories of 10 years ago are still etched in everyone's minds, and there is a deep, underlying fear that "another big one might come."
We will do our utmost to provide a safe and secure living environment during this recovery phase, protecting both body and mind, so that we can minimize any disaster-related health issues.
I pray from the bottom of my heart for everyone's safety and that there will be no further damage🙏🙏🙏

おにぎりがある、と記しましたが、、

熊本市南部に入ってだいぶ都市部に来たところで、なんと、、

先ほど、熊本市南部へ戻り、ハッと気づいたのですが、、とてもでないスイッチが入っているからでしょうが、、昨夜から何も食べておらず、、早朝の名古屋の自販機で買ったペットボトル一本で熊本地震の被災地をまわってきました、、
私は今からおにぎりがありますので大丈夫ですが、それよりも、、今回にとにかく驚いたのは、熊本市南部から八代市にかけて、コンビニ、スーパー、ホームセンター、ファストフード、その他のお店が、ほぼ全て終日、開けられない状況であることです、、
店が開いていないから、飲み物や食事のことをすっかり丸一日、気づかなかった、というのが正しいです。
私は全然自分のことは気にしてなかったのですが、つまり、被災されて、心身共に疲弊されている皆様も、避難所で受けとらないと、手にできないです、、
また、夜に八代市から熊本市南部に入ったときに、1kmを超える左車線だけの渋滞が続いていて、そんなに左折が混むのかなと思って運転していましたら、な、な、な、なんと、、ガソリンスタンドへの一般車の列でした、、
被災地でもお互いに声掛けしながらいろいろ進めていますので、そうした復旧復興に尽力されている皆様へ心の底から感謝しながらの現地で動いておりますが、10年前もそうでしたが、車中泊が多すぎます、、
今回の復旧復興を振り返る際に、少なくとも現代の日本の被災地の復旧を大きく転換できるポイントも、本日、現地入りしているからこその観点を、かなり深めつつ、かなり具体的に考案しながら運転していました！
宿題ができました！
