For world book day this year, my daughters school sent them all home with a plain white t-shirt to decorate with their favourite book.
I love this idea because it cuts out the cost and consumerism of it all!

I have seen this picture cross my feed many times, and every single time it pulls me up short. His little blue lunchbox, the sneakers that are probably a tad too big because he would grow into them, the straps for his glasses so that he didn’t lose them, his checkered shirt that his little hands might have stumbled over in trying to make sure he got every button right, or perhaps his mother bent down to help him with; his mother who he waves goodbye to, who he loved and who loved him so deeply.
Well that didn’t exactly go to plan did it?
Irishman Tommy Robinson who lives under a residency in socialist Spain attempts to mock a Somali migrant only to discover that this is the guy who stopped the German kindergarten knife attack back in January
Bad Bunny walked out in a #64 jersey with “OCASIO” on the back.
Not Bad Bunny.
Not Benito.
His real name.
His family name.
Then he grabbed the mic and said:
“My name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio. And if today I’m here at the Super Bowl, it’s because I never, never stopped believing in myself.”
In Spanish.
No translation.
Even the jumbotron was in Spanish.
And I watched the whole thing with a translator on.
Because the message was that important to me.
They said he was “un-American.”
They said nobody would understand him.
They said having him perform was “ridiculous.”
And he SHOWED OUT!
He brought out Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin.
He staged a wedding on the field.
He recreated a bodega.
He gave us a whole scene of family and love.
He humanized an entire culture on the world’s biggest stage.
All in his native language.
And he didn’t flinch.
His lyrics were clear messages:
“They want to take the river from me, and the beach too. They want my neighborhood and for my grandma to leave.”
“I should have taken more photos when I had you. Hopefully my loved ones will never move.”
And that last line:
“Ojalá que los míos nunca se muden.”
Hopefully my loved ones will never move.
That’s about families being separated.
Forced to leave.
Displacement.
Yeah, he didn’t chase the mainstream.
He made the mainstream come to him.
He put his family name on his back and told 120 million people exactly who he is.
And I’m here for ALL of it!👏🏽
The United States federal government really want you to believe that this soccer mom with her lab in the car who's last words were a calm "That's fine, dude. I'm not mad at you." was a domestic terrorist. Beyond insanity.
Renee was one of my students years ago. I held her baby. She was kind and talented, a working class mom who put herself through school despite circumstances that would’ve crumpled the pathetic rich boy politicians who sadistically abetted her murder
God damn them all
Maybe I’m too much of a European, but I honestly can’t understand how so many Americans find it perfectly natural to be shot in the head on the spot for the slightest act of disobedience toward any sort of law enforcement. You might wanna revisit that "land of the free" thing.

UK - I am so upset by this.
What looks like a young cow has escaped from her field. The police think it’s ok to ram her with their police car.
This is truly disgusting of the police. Wtf is wrong with this country 😳😱
There has never been a war in history where 80% of the country has been decimated, 100% of the population displaced and 50% of the deaths children…
So let’s just call it for what it really is… this is a GENOCIDE..🇵🇸💔
These are the children who were living in the tents before Israeli airstrikes burned them to the ground in Rafah.
They don’t know which children are still alive from this video.
