@BillyScrimshaw@cigarsandlegs@alexthechick It’s “unfair” relative to the geographic and political subdivisions of the area. When that (viz. deviating from manifest geographic and common interests, including local and country government) is done for partisan reasons, that is what defines gerrymandering.
@SouthsideTilly @metathomist Humility is a virtue, and pride is a vice, so there is a moral training component to this. But a man alone, without the ability to form a band of brothers, is relatively weak, and a man too weak to even be tested by his brothers (or take joy in it) is not trustworthy in combat
@JtheExile9077 @Ephesus_431AD @OpStCyprian “God” is used primarily for God the Father, but also for the other persons and lastly for the Trinity as manifested by divine action in the world (e.g., creation, Providence). Since there’s no divine action in “Mother of God,” it would make no sense to use collective “God”
@sunbrightskills @OpStCyprian It’s less accurate, because it doesn’t affirm that “the God-man Jesus Christ” is identical to “the Word of God.” “Mother of God” is more of a statement about Jesus than Mary.
@pauljlachapelle @Acolyte83349490 The academic dishonesty by David King has been documented for years and years. This is what relying on professional liars gets you.
@KeithStewa50130@MJC7559@ScottAdamsSays Qualifications and election procedures are different legal issues. Neither states nor Congress can create new qualifications. States can create election regulations for federal office, and Congress can (for the most part) standardize those regulations by federal law.
@flatland_sports @L_Ridd21 @CFBAlerts_ No, they’re the reason the SWC no longer exists, and you seem determined to repeat the mistake. Only teams that draw eyeballs and sell tickets should get to play major football. The other schools get bribed for exhibition games. That’s it.
@adamdejoode@CFBAlerts_@flatland_sports The issue is that these conference games are terrible. Nobody wants to watch this. That’s why there isn’t a Southwest Conference anymore. Vox populi, vox dei.
@swparadise@adamgorney Delusional, The bowl system wasn’t even a playoff at all; how was that better? How has March Madness ever been a bad thing for college basketball? If anything, respect for the antiquated conference champion structure is what ruined this year.
@bdactual@adamgorney They could’ve used FPI like the basketball committee uses RPI. Then SMU wouldn’t have been in by default and “punishing” teams wouldn’t have been an issue, because it wouldn’t take out a team that would’ve made it.
@NotTheFakePJ@ClayTravis Basketball uses the RPI to account for this, while the CFP committee ignored the FPI in favor of the antiquated “deserving” approach. That was a mistake given how scheduling has changed in the superconferences.
@linecoachtim@daddywankenobi0@ScottAdamsSays It’s hard to get good video of something far away at night, but anyone with a functional pair of eyes who has seen these things flying around can tell that they aren’t planes.
