Their plan involves selling a package to Europe that combines LIG’s high-altitude, long-range interceptor systems, such as L-SAM, L-SAM-II, M-SAM-II, and M-SAM-III with Rheinmetall's short-range air defense systems.

For LIG, targeting the European market together with Rheinmetall is quite convenient, while for Rheinmetall, it is better to secure at least some of the European market with LIG before it is too late, rather than having Diehl or other take over the SAM market.

This is somewhat of a trend.
For instance, following the K239 contract, Hanwha Aerospace also established a JV with Poland's WB Group for missile development and production.
LIG also established a joint venture with the UAE.
However, LIG ​​does not hold the entire stake in battery configurations such as the M-SAM and L-SAM.
The radars belong to Hanwha Systems, and the AAM interceptors for the L-SAM belong to LIG, but the ABMs belong to Hanwha Aerospace.

Similarly, LIG ​​D&A has a proven lineup of missile systems, substantial fixed demand (Korea and the Middle East), and has expanded its missile production lines.

Rheinmetall is a solid player in SHORAD systems, while LIG is the leader in medium and high-altitude interceptor systems.
In particular, ground-based high-altitude interceptor systems require massive investments in budget, R&D, and time for development, verification, production, and deployment due to their nature and LIG ​​has no concerns regarding this, and virtually the only countries selling ground-based high-altitude long-range interceptor systems are the United States, Israel, and South Korea.
Given that Israel's Arrow faces difficulties securing new demand due to ethical and ideological conflicts with European governments and politicians even within the defense market, the joint venture between Rheinmetall and LIG D&A is highly likely to exploit these points.

Everyone commenting on this is confused about large predator behavior. Bears dont have to just win the fight, they have to win EVERY fight with no major injuries for their entire lives. A dog-sized snack is not worth the risk of losing his eye. The dog is not competing with him for territory or food or mates. He has basically no reason to fight it.
