Why are the overt scandals of the Liberal party supposed to be quickly and quietly forgotten - but the plain-spoken expectation of merit and justice by the Opposition leader in an open democracy treated like some kind of party foul?

The state funded CBC and establishment East has no idea how tiresome these obese and DEI-led federal institutions have become to most Canadians. The bureaucracy still works from home 40pc of the time while public services rapidly decline in spite of being 45pc larger and 70pc more expensive than a decade ago under debt-funded Liberal largesse.

The result? national poverty, the rapid decline of our cities, rise in drug deaths, every form of violent crime and loss of international respect. Pierre is calling time on an RCMP with a selective law enforcement problem and a political boot-kissing history.

And the CBC is stressed out because they gave up on serious investigative reporting of their Ottawa paymasters a decade ago.

Pierre is going to defund them - nd we’re supposed to follow their dramatic fainting spell over what Pierre said?

Every time I turned it on the CBC news for the last 10 years there was a story pushing climate alarm, pushing racist and sexist hiring and contracting practices, pushing free drugs and encampments, pushing trans for kids.

I stopped turning it on.

I've long felt that the number 1 job of the Canadian PM is to ensure that our relationship with the US is solid. They're our number 1 trading partner (and always will be, no matter how much we diversify), they ARE our defense, they are our biggest cultural influence. They're the most powerful and wealthiest nation on the planet and, despite some current issues, are the strongest democracy.
If you have to pick a side, it should be theirs. Did Donald Trump beat us up a little? Absolutely. And the reason it hurt so much is because there was some truth there. We don't want to admit that Canadian exceptionalism DEPENDS on American exceptionalism.
We rely on their market, we rely on their military and we rely on their leadership. One of the main reasons we attract what international investment we do is because of our access to the US market.
We don't have to be a complete toady, but we should be supporting our strongest ally and we should be mending these fences.
