Let’s stop dancing around the obvious.

Austin Metcalf received the death penalty.

Karmelo Anthony received 35 years.

One of them lives.
One of them gets a gravestone.

Save the faux outrage.

The real victim in this case is NOT the convicted killer.

The real victim is the young man who will never come home again and the family that will spend the rest of their lives grieving a loss that can never be undone.

This was a track meet.

A place for competition, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

NOT violence.
NOT murder.

And spare us the racial narratives.

Murder is wrong regardless of the race of the victim or the perpetrator. Any decent society should be able to agree on that.

Austin Metcalf lost everything.

His family got a life sentence of grief.

And while some are busy turning this tragedy into a racial debate, the Metcalf family is looking at the empty chair at the dinner table and remembering who actually paid the highest price.

Austin Metcalf got the death penalty.

Let me get this straight…

Apparently, an ICE agent being struck by a car is not enough to create reasonable fear of serious bodily harm.

But Karmelo Anthony being shoved during a confrontation he allegedly escalated, going on to say, “touch me and see what happens,” where he was then pushed, is enough to justify pulling a knife and stabbing someone in the chest?

That isn’t a consistent self-defense standard. That’s a tribal and political standard.

Either imminent serious bodily harm matters, or it doesn’t. The logic isn’t logic’ing.

BREAKING: I was just told by Austin Metcalf’s friend that as him and a group of friends left the courthouse today, they were surrounded by a large group of Karmelo Anthony supporters. According to them, members of the crowd shouted, “F*** Austin,” said they would “piss on his grave,” told the teens that they “should be dead with him,” and even spit at them.

Regardless of anyone’s views on the case, no grieving teenager should be subjected to harassment, threats, or degrading treatment while leaving a courthouse.

Cam Lomax (@CamLomax04) might be the leader for POY in Texas..An absolute alpha that knows how to approach the biggest games. 33 LOUD points tonight and game changing plays late.

James Johnson (@JaythreeJohnson) even with guarding Lomax majority of the game, still left me thinking he’s one of the best 2028 defenders in the class.

That Dylan Steffe (@DylanSteffe) to Xander Pruzinksy (@XANDER2027) lob connection is never delayed! Unbelievable chemistry from a top 2028 PG and one of the top lob threats in Texas.

Bryson Howard (@bryson_howard5) smell blood unlike most. He spearheads LOUD runs that can absolutely crush an opponent. Will be ELITE 2-way players at Duke. Was UNBELIEVABLE on defense in crunch time.

Caden Deffebaugh (@21Caden21) & Jackson Childers (@_JacksonC2026) provide the senior leadership you need. Even though Memorial fell short, this squad never looked out of of place or overwhelmed by any moment. I always look to seniors to lead that. Should continue to have Alamodome aspirations.

Idc how many stars that Howard and Lomax have combined. Heritage doesn’t win this game without Chandler Cornell (@CBCornell23) Heritage needed someone else to attack and he wanted that moment.
