I thought He had gone silent. But in my suffering, the Father was whispering His sanctifying work to kill me and bring my renewed life back to Himself.
“What have you to do here? This world never looked like a friend upon you; you owe it little love; it looked ever sour-like upon you: howbeit you should woo it, it will not match with you; and, therefore, never seek warm fire under cold ice." (Rutherford)

All that is done without God is worthless, always ending in nothingness and death. All that is done with God and for God is eternally important, always ending in never-ending value and life.
To believe in the sovereign, unconditional election of the children of God, you don’t have to believe in Calvinism. You only need to believe in the infallibility of Scripture.
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.” (John 1:12–13)
This is one of the best books I've read. I highly recommend it. Allison does a fantastic job of respectfully explaining Roman Catholicism without compromising on the real truth of the Gospel. I learned so much about Rome's beliefs as well as Protestant beliefs. Very helpful!
We must know who the Holy Spirit is. Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. You better be certain you are not, in your ignorance, mistaking Satan for the Spirit. That would be a deadly mistake. We must know the Spirit as He actually is.
“The lot is cast into the lap, but every decision is from the Lord.” Proverbs 16:33
So, the fall of every bird.
The roll of every wave.
The metastasis of every cell.
The landing of every Delta flight.
The tilt of every grain of sand.
The pop of every bubble above your Diet Coke.
This week, on-campus and online students are back in the classroom for our first week of fall classes. Please keep our students in prayer as they begin reading, studying, and completing their assignments.
Took me regeneration and years of sanctification to realize this but all praise to God that I have started to now. How worthless were my desires before!!
“He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”
