Why can’t the ownership just fuck off and sell the club?
They’re going to make a massive profit regardless and we’re a sinking ship.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe waited six months to hire Dan Ashworth, then sacked him five months into the job because he probably told him that Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox are not fit for Manchester United.
The older I get, the more I understand why people disappear into gardening baking, reading, and long walks. Not because life got boring. Because peace became valuable.
Honestly at this point UK prices are just made up:
How is a return train to London £170? How is a "cheap" weekend away in England suddenly £600 when I could fly abroad for that.
How did £700 rent turn into £1500 for the same house?
Why does my car insurance rise every year on the same car with no claims? And since when did two bags of shopping come to nearly £100? We're finished. Absolutely done. 🇬🇧
Your job is not your life.
Take your lunch break. Relax during after-hours.
Enjoy your weekends.
Take the holidays off.
Use your PTO & sick leave.
You agreed to do your job in exchange for the pay and benefits.
You didn't sign up to sell your soul and every moment of your personal life.
Having spent the last few years since having my daughter gradually increasing my working hours, I can safely say 3 days a week is optimal and 4 days a week manageable but 5 days or more decreases your quality of life so much it’s not been worth the extra money.
Gen Z is right obviously. Taking work seriously has very few upsides anymore. You're not going to be able to afford a house, get married, or have children, which means the incentives that formed the basis of western civilization are all gone now.
It’s 8pm, you want a walk. You step out the door in shorts & a t-shirt. The sky is bright, grass is green, a breeze is a relief. You smile at dog walkers, head to a pub garden, have a drink, walk home, grab a Cornetto, STILL IN THE LIGHT. That’s just 4 months away. HANG IN THERE.
Do you really believe we’re being lied to about cancer and there’s actually many cures but it’s more profitable to treat people til they die than it is to actually cure them
You need a doctor once a year maybe and a fireman once in a lifetime, if you’re unlucky. But you need a farmer three times a day.
