I have watched this CCTV footage with fear, sadness, and a heavy heart.

Saika is an area I know well. I have spent time there, and seeing armed criminals operate so boldly is deeply disturbing.

What this incident exposes is a worrying reality in parts of Kayole, Saika, Njiru, and Maili Saba.

Criminals appear to have access to illegal firearms, and many use motorcycles because they can disappear long before police respond.

These two armed men walked into a salon, cocked a pistol, and robbed women of their mobile phones. Think about that. They carried a gun just to steal phones from women trying to earn a living or get their hair done.

If criminals are this confident today, what happens six months before an election?

What happens to business owners, shopkeepers, and ordinary wananchi?

The spread of illegal firearms should concern every Kenyan.

Our security agencies should remain focused on dismantling criminal networks, recovering illegal weapons, and protecting citizens.

Public safety must never take a back seat.

No Kenyan should have to wonder whether walking into a salon, shop, or business could end with a gun pointed at them.
