Back in the day, @Arshdeepbains__, his dad and siblings would hop on the SkyTrain at Surrey Central heading to games at Stadium–Chinatown.
Now, Arshdeep isn’t just watching the games, he’s in them. Tonight, he plays in Game 5 of the Calder Cup Final with the @abbycanucks.

This is your mid-campaign reminder: political canvassers deserve your respect. The vast majority are volunteers stepping up to participate in the democratic process. You don’t have to agree with the party they represent, but you do have to treat them like human beings. #cdnpoli
An incredible appointment. An heroic achievement forged in personal courage. One of my earliest memories in politics:
“After months of debate, the Brian Mulroney government announces new changes to the RCMP dress code in March of 1990 — including the freedom for observant Sikhs to wear beards and turbans. As a result, Dhillon joins the RCMP, trains in Regina and graduates to active duty in 1991”

35 years ago today 14 women were killed at Montréal’s École Polytechnique. Today is Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them.
While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change.
And they’re right.
New- @WorldSikhOrg has sent a letter to PM @JustinTrudeau, which has also been shared with all opposition leaders, urging the Canadian Parliament to officially acknowledge the Sikh Genocide as the community commemorates the 40th anniversary of the events of 1984.

The government was already struggling to implement its previous 2 days per week office mandate due to the lack of adequate workspaces & proper tools for workers. Forcing workers back into ill-equipped offices will impact the services Canadians depend on.

The WSO is deeply disappointed by the decision of the Court of Appeal of Quebec largely upholding Bill 21, Quebec's controversial secularism law. The WSO and Quebec educator Amrit Kaur were appellants in this case. Bill 21 prohibits public sector workers in positions of authority from wearing religious symbols or articles of faith such as dastaars (turbans) , hijabs, and kippahs.
The WSO legal team is reviewing the judgment and we are committed to pursuing all avenues to challenge this law including by appealing to the Supreme Court of Canada. This is a fight for fundamental human rights and we will continue until all Quebecers are treated equally and free to practice their faith without fear of discrimination."
