The Ravens are working to finalize a deal with Navy defensive coordinator P.J. Volker to join Jesse Minter’s staff as a defensive assistant, per sources.
Minter and Volker coached together at Georgia St and Indiana St and played college ball together. They are extremely close.

Spalding’s leader is moving on.

Head varsity football coach Kyle Schmitt is stepping down after 13 years, he told the Capital Gazette on Wednesday morning, to become the tight ends coach at Maryland, his alma mater.

Schmitt transformed Spalding from a middling Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference program into a nationally ranked powerhouse. The Cavaliers have won four consecutive conference titles and are coming off a 10-2 season in which they finished the year ranked No. 2 by The Baltimore Sun. He went 101-36-1 during his tenure in Severn.
