I found a poem published in 1927, written by A.A Milne which someone with ADHD might find familiar.
It's called The Old Sailor and was in his book Now We Are Six.

I think it answers both of those questions.

Word of advice to parents of students starting uni this week

Don't stalk them on the Find My app every hour of the day and night
Don't go and stand in their room staring at their stuff every time you walk past their bedroom door.

Every now and again is fine though, if it helps.
