Northwestern and several former football players finalized a settlement Monday to dismiss all claims against the school and Pat Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald’s suit against NU remains, with a Nov. 3 trial. NU unsuccessfully tried to postpone the trial to March.

Sources: Northwestern is in deep discussions on a new contract for coach Chris Collins that’s will give him additional years, a raise and provide more resources for the staff and program. A new deal is expected to be formalized in the coming weeks.
