@KennyBurgosNY I understand why you have to grift for landlords - just please be somewhat original? You're yoinking Zohran's whole thing and putting it over Succession music like you're actually saying something. You're intentionally vague to try and get an audience on your side.Too transparent
@KennyBurgosNY Why did you jump from the 40s to the 70s? What happened in between? Also who owned the Subways for the majority of the time period? It wasn't NYC. Are you advocating for the MTA fare to go up? That's what it sounds like from this very poorly messaged video. This is a bad video.
Queens is trending and everyone is politicizing WP, I made a film at the exact spot that viral video took place. It's been that way for years but recently worse as the city/CORPORATIONS are fighting over it.
Here's the film - it's even called FLUSHING:

@SuperBADSolace yo Joel, read your story in NYT and wanted to connect. Very similar to my story from Flushing. I actually just released a short that touches on it:

Regardless, just wanted to reach out and commend. Glad to see someone make it.
@bryangreenberg@getpaidelman@victorrasuk just found the podcast and loving it. Recently made this short film and every NY Festival we played people asked if this was based on HTMIIA. Finally saw the similarities when I did a rewatch.Thought you may enjoy

When the film played at Queens World Film Festival so many people asked if these were "underground" artists and I never thought of them like that. They were just great songs that people needed to hear.
Hoping to have a music supervisor on the next film to handle legal tho!!
.@THERAVADA - ft. Awhlee I Keep Having Visions. When I first heard this song it had a great nostalgic feeling and knew it would fit perfectly during a montage to show off Flushing Main Street

The chase scene song was from a royalty free music site. I really wanted a DnB feel for the chase scene and couldn't find anything to fit from Queens artists - obviously the pool isn't really large. The credits song was from Yogi Beretta but not found on streaming.
.@NIGELTHREETIMES - R.A.V.E.R. More WF alum. I was doing everything I could to use maybe 2 of Nigel's songs because I couldn't find any Queens artists that were doing electronic/DnB for the chase scene. Only used 1 and people loved it:

.@actionbronson's Barry Horowitz was the quintessential Flushing song. We obviously needed something Action being that the film takes place in Flushing. This was the first Bronson joint I ever heard
https://t.co/OPPjkbGeeY
.@lanskyjones another WF artist who's song Rich Bitch Lullaby was the perfect song for the scene. I really pushed my audio engineer to try to hear as much of the song as possible during the conversation and it wasn't perfect but we got it

A lot of people have reached out about the soundtrack on the flushing short film which feels great. I tried to get only Queen's artists and songs that I thought didn't have nearly enough shine. Quick thread:

.@RemyBanks - n1go was the first joint. The intro to this song was always crazy and should be used in way more tv shows in my opinion

My new short film flushing is out now!
1. Shot the whole thing over a weekend with a very small budget
2. All of the music is from Queens artist
3. I don't want to gas it at all but it has kind of been killing with live audiences
Check it out.

Some more recent quick Youtube work:
When I realized I had to give up the whole cinematographer dream and become a director.
Calling myself a "Director" just sounds gross but that's another video for another day.
