3/ So as an artist I feel that you’d have to have balance between 1 n 2 as everyone needs to eat and make money but in the long run its also impt to create work in your style to build your brand and one day “make it” thru solely selling work based on your brand.

@_iristography 1/ I guess theres that certain level of fomo when you see fellow artist “make it” and the urge to bend your work to just ride the the market. However at the end of the day I know that everyone wants to own smth of value to them and so how does one create this value as an artist?

2/ 1) thru creating meaning/value eg collectors loves portraits, you’d have to change your style and create portraiture related work to create that meaning for them to own it.
2) thru the brand/your name in the industry. Which takes time and effort to create and build up
