An inclusive Jewish movement organizing international Jewish communities to take action against China’s ongoing genocide of the Uyghur and other Turkic peoples.
"When we say never again, we should really mean it, and we should do something active about it." Please listen to these Holocaust survivors' call to action against the Chinese government's persecution of the Uyghurs. And open this thread to find out what you can do.
@ChinaAmbUN One thing you can do right now is donate to support relief efforts for Uyghur refugees in Turkey. Help our friends at @CUyghurs meet their goal of $10,000 to directly support homeless Uyghur youth seeking refuge from the concentration camps. https://t.co/AEOY7Hdj1l

Today is my father’s birthday. He is 55.
I just learned that my father was sentenced to 16 years in prison. My uncle Emet Yaqup (60) was sentenced to life imprisonment. Uncle-in-law Yaqup Sherol (72) was sentenced to 15 years.
They are all victims of the #UyghurGenocide
A new @UyghurProject report, "No Time to Lose: Uyghurs Stuck in the United States Asylum System", highlights the dire situation of as many as 1,000 #Uyghurs that are caught up in the 🇺🇸 asylum system, leading to significant stress and anxiety.

Over 4 months passed since Kamile’s detention and she is still missing. Neither the local police station nor her college pick up my calls anymore. Thus, I am asking some friends to send letters to the school or police station.
Below is one of them in Chinese.
DM me for address.
I am proud to see a Uyghur parliament member in Japan. I hope Uyghurs not only change Chinese dictatorship, but also contribute their own hosting countries
#Uyghur poet Tahir Hamut Izgil watched as his friends disappeared into China's camps. He knew his turn would come soon.
Then he escaped. Now, in this searing, powerful, beautifully written memoir, Tahir shares his story with the world.
My translation out Aug 1 fr @penguinpress.
Breaking News! The @UN_HRC Working Group on Arbitrary Detention issued an opinion determining the unjust detention of my brother #EkparAsat, #GulshenAbbas, and Qurban Mamut is arbitrary. It ordered China to free victims and fully investigate rights violation & compensate victims.
Four blank paper protesters in Beijing, Cao Zhixin, Zhai Dengrui, Li Siqi, and Li Yuanjing have reportedly been released. But there is no news so far of the Uyghur girl Kamile Wayit.
Dear friends, @shahitbiz is doing an incredible job documenting atrocities. I am going to set up a monthly donation. Even if it is 10 dollars, it can contribute a lot. Could you please support this independent group? They are running out of funds.

I appreciate @USAmbChina for being concerned about Ekpar's health. 7 years have not been easy for our family. I hope he does everything in his power to bring Ekpar home.
Here's the biggest journalism thing I've ever done. It's a @Wired feature on @IPVM, a small publication that stumbled on a huge story: the world's leading #surveillance-camera company used #AI to help China persecute #Uyghurs.
Peep some of the key bits🧵

Today marks 7 years since Ekpar Asat’s detention. Ekpar has had nearly no contact with the outside world, is being held far from his family, and his health has deteriorated dangerously. On this dark anniversary we call on China to release all those unjustly detained in Xinjiang.
Only if @EmmanuelMacron has met young #Uyghurs, who are held in concentration camps for their desire to learn foreign languages, their own language, or visit Western nations. What's that scene like?
It seems the friendship between China and France excludes the Uyghurs.
Yesterday in a two min video call my parents saw my brother unrecognizable and lost huge weight; he looked like a skull. Don’t tell me China is not commuting genocide; The victims in concentration camps are starved to death. He asked my parents to stay alive before he gets out.
Happy Passover to Jewish friends!
The Jewish community has stood shoulder to shoulder with the #Uyghur community to end the Uyghur genocide. We appreciate them for their dedication and commitment. Let’s continue this fight together and stronger!
Big companies, setting up factories in Xinjiang and using the state-sponsored labor transfer program, using Uyghur surplus labor, can't claim to protect Uyghur with a whistleblower hotline. You didn't even provide a translator who speaks Uyghurche.
Uyghur kids will discover their history in Berlin. April 7 to April 10, 30 students from 10 European countries arnd15 years old will visit museums, former Jewish camps and draw their history and present genocide on the Berlin Wall, let’s enjoy their pictures and listen to them
Happy women’s day for all Uyghur women suffering in the camps. In the war against Uyghurs, women are the main victims. They have sacrificed a lot during the war since 2017.
Uyghur women faced sterilisation, group rape, forced marriage, and murdered like my niece Mihriay Erkin.
