Rashy is marginally cheaper, the way la liga works is you can amortize a transfer fee the length of a contract up to 5 years, and it gets added to your annual budget which is a fixed amount per FFP (similar to PSR).

Gordon signs a 5 year contract at 11m gross per year, plus 70m + 10m for add ons. 70m/5y =14m plus 11m, that amortizes at 25m per year in FFP space.

Now Rashy would be a 3 year deal, 14m gross per year, with a 30m fee. That’s 14m+10m=24m per year in FFP space.

Then you factor in age, work rate, potential, system, etc. and you can understand why Barca would prefer Gordon.
