Ethan Williams was a visitor to our city when he was "randomly" murdered by a career criminal in October 2020. The NYPD worked for two years to find his killer, and the DA prosecuted it eptly enough. But no governor, mayor, state lawmaker, or city council member ever reached out to say, you know, we're sorry for your loss, can we help you with anything? The family has been patient and gracious to New York, considering that New York has behaved indifferently.

Ethan's parents, brother, and girlfriend were compassionate toward Ethan's killer in court Thursday, wishing him a constructive life in state prison as he makes some good of himself. But Ethan's 2020 murder on a Brooklyn stoop, and his killer's prison sentence, were preventable; Ethan was a victim of NYS criminal justice "reforms." RIP and thank you to his family for being so gracious.

@SeoulCrusher11 @nicolegelinas Max (?). I’m Ethan‘s father. Not a wish. An admonition; challenge to repay a life debt. Our job was to not add more hate to this fire and to offer to the killer a chance at his own redemption. Also, you were not there. You did not see, and feel, what we all felt.
