Job hunting is a humbling phase. As someone that was in it for two months, countless rejections, 20+ interviews, three job offers, I think I have learnt a few lessons that might help someone who’s currently in that phase.
Every woman must build a solid self esteem because the world is designed to call you ugly and expect you to crumble at the mere pronunciation of that word. They place your value firmly on your beauty. You must demolish it.
Not to sound delusional, but please pray for grace. Life isn't really about hard work. It's more about meeting the right people, grace, mercy, and favour.
Every Sunday morning like today, I’m reminded of how much I hate ironing.
The problem is, 9 out of 10 times, I have to decide on a whim on what to wear to church.
Ahhhh!
Here’s what I’m suggesting- every citizen contacts their reps & senators with coordinated emails, phone calls and WhatsApp messages with the following -
*Dear Hon/Sen, as your constituent, i am urging you to call for a PUBLIC hearing to address the strategy to defeat terrorism, rumours of an ill-equipped military and how Nigerians will be kept safe. Please act urgently*
They are going to schools to kidnap girls so they can rape virgins. Raped through the night. We need to sit with uncomfortable truths. We should not be allowed to block out the horrific stories.
From wearing school uniforms to being married off, pregnant, dying in childbirth.
I am heartbroken by the abduction of our daughters in Kebbi and the painful loss of Brigadier General Musa Uba and the brave soldiers who fell in Borno. Their families, and the families of the kidnapped schoolgirls, are in my prayers.
As the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, I am depressed with the tragic death of our soldiers and officers on active duty. May God comfort the families of Brigadier General Musa Uba and other fallen heroes.
I am also depressed that heartless terrorists have disrupted the education of innocent schoolgirls. I have directed the security agencies to act swiftly and bring the girls back to Kebbi State.
I am fully apprised of the recent uptick in violent extremism in pockets across the country, and I have directed our security agencies to respond with urgency, clarity, and decisive action. Our forces need the full cooperation of every community. Sharing information can save lives and protect our children.
May God comfort the bereaved families.
Those who threaten the safety of our citizens will face the full weight of the Nigerian state.
