With the Musk-ification of the algorithm, not sure how many of #academictwitter or #mentalhealth is still around but for those that are, I'm pleased another article of mine on Muslim mental health has been published in @BPSOfficial new journal - Postgraduate Quarterly.
@Justwandyy So she blocked you to punish you for calling her out then unblocked you hoping you'd apologise? Its manipulative and narcissistic. Doesnt sound like someone who is a genuine friend, but needs attention.
@Justwandyy There was good news and instead of being polite she made it about her and her feelings. You tried to be civil and hold her accountable and hold a mirror to her actions and she couldn't handle it. Seems youre more of the good friend than she is able to be, to anyone.
Absolutely disgraceful racism from @jkyleofficial on @TalkTV. As the camera zooms in on me and @DrHWazir on the picket line, he sneers that โa lot of them have come into this country to be doctors.โ He based this solely on the colour of my skin.
I was born in the UK. I studied and trained in the UK and I currently work as a doctor in the NHS. My grandfather fought for this country in WW2.
This is racist, demeaning, and utterly unacceptable.
This was, straightforwardly, a racist narrative designed to delegitimize Hannah Spencer's victory while also implying that British Muslims are in some way not full citizens. Despicable, gutter stuff for which there was (of course) exactly zero evidence.
After I put out my video yesterday, this is what I saw whist scrolling on my newsfeed.
Read the comment below, in the photo. โNever a mass shooter around when you want one.โ
This photo is of Eid in the Park yesterday, in my city.
As the Leader of this city I am outraged.
This is an example of what Muslim communities will now have to face, day in, day out because of comments made by Conservative politicians like @NJ_Timothy & @KemiBadenoch
When people in responsible positions make hateful statements against a faith group, it normalises such behaviour in wider society. The trickle down effect can be seen below.
The Tories should be ashamed of themselves and I have reported the below person to the constabulary.
Eid Mubarak ๐ from the All-Party Parliamentary Group on British Muslims.
Wishing communities across the UK a joyful and peaceful Eid, celebrating unity, reflection, and togetherness.
@YugoslavVisuals The Belgrade to Bar rail journey is a must do. The train itself leaves much to be desired but the views once crossing into Montenegro are stunning.
@kafkaex Essentially what Aziz Ansari was saying in 'Modern romance'. Apps give a paradox of choice, with algorithms cultivating a sense of transactional desirability yet users are frustrated in what is being 'offered', with easy replacability justifying difference as incompatibilities.
@I_amMukhtar The Right have played race politics for ages, using the classic 'divide and rule' for inter-ethnic division. They focused on Hindu nationalism to court Indian middle class voters. Vote Leave also targeted middle class ethnic voters by promising greater Commonwealth migration.
So 2/3rds of voters rejected right wing politics and racial division yet the right wing parties frame their loss with more, yes racial division.
Blame the Muslims doesnt work when the area is majority non-Muslim. Its Greater Manchester, maybe the voters were just progressive?
@PolitlcsUK In a by-election where nearly 2/3rds of votes were cast against odious policies of Reform, they are turning to dog-whistle politics and Islamophobic rhetoric to rationalise a loss. The reality is the majority of voters of Gorton and Denton simply weren't interested in Reform.
