Chery SA and Nissan SA have reached an agreement where Chery will buy the Nissan factory in Rosslyn along with the nearby stamping plant. The brands have said that the majority of Nissan employees will be offered employment by Chery SA.

This is the end of an era but the beginning of an exciting period in the country where mainstream Chinese brands, who have been criticised for not manufacturing locally, will begin doing so. Interestingly, the same wasn’t usually raised against Korean brands who have enjoyed tremendous local success. Nonetheless, we view this development as extremely exciting and great news for local industry and jobs.

I think people don’t understand what 50/50 actually means. It doesn’t necessarily mean that every single bill needs to be split in the household. The one who earns more will probably pay more bills.

50/50 just means that we’re both putting the same effort into making the relationship work. It’s all about meeting your partner halfway. If he’s paying all the bills then you can take care of the household and make sure that everything is running smoothly. That’s still a mutually beneficial relationship.
