@Melooley I really wasn’t trying to attack you with the “everyone talks in medicine”.
I think speaking in absolute and then jumping on an opinion while asserting I’m the one saying “this is how it is for everyone”, is a weird take.
I choose not to speak in absolutes for a reason.
@Melooley I work in medicine. If you think behind the scenes your physicians are collaborating then you fundamentally don’t understand how science works.
I wasn’t saying that your team talks to each other. Even directly. And to assume that anything is “fact” is something you are doing.
@Melooley I also have a degree in lab sciences which does give me more information about how the body intrinsically works and interacts. I never say I’m an expert or someone should take my “medical advice” as I don’t want to be liable and not licensed to do so.
@Melooley I’m not saying I’m more right either just giving perspectives.
A symptom of mine is I do have trouble letting things go. But I’ve also spent 8 yrs in several diff. Departments in medicine.
Medicine, much like anything in life isn’t black and white.
@Melooley Therapists can also be licensed to prescribe medicine as some can hold many qualifications at once so it’s important to make sure you know what degree they have, where they studied, etc.
@Melooley I never said they could help with access other than info. They can help you manage symptoms so that psychiatrists can advice the best medicine. My experience is different, my team is in network and can access the same notes without ringing someone up.
@Melooley If you feel like me advising people to take medicine seriously and ask professionals that get various degrees in mental health. That’s okay. It’s disingenuous to say I’m hurting more than not imo.
@Melooley Look you can stop engaging but I’m here for a discussion. Go ahead and block me. You are entitled to an opinion just as much as I am. USA = freedom of speech.
@Melooley Your therapist would laugh at you for that? (/s? asking for a friend 😂 ..me)
Even in jest, I couldn’t continue seeing someone who laughs at questions they don’t known the answer to. It’s normal to not know. I need someone that will take the time to get me to the right answer.
@Melooley I brought up PCP because that’s where a lot of people start with a referral for therapy. When depression and/or anxiety is chronic. I wasn’t trying to suggest to go to them for management of symptoms from ADHD/autism, but that a PCP would help facilitate contacting an office
@Melooley I’m in the Midwest. I wasn’t saying my therapist knows exactly a med based on a name. They do know drug groups and general effects just like psychiatry. My psychiatrist is educated on meds, but not as much how my life events effect how my body uses the drugs.
@forestvanslyke@Melooley It’s not always ADHD that’s causing your lack of focus. Depression and anxiety can also cause lack of focus. Starting more generally with mood stuff first is a good place, then evaluate where to go with ADHD meds. Late diagnosis. 2 years in and just now getting ADHD meds.
@Melooley@forestvanslyke Google is an ad agency I was just suggesting that sources from Reddit will have better info then the ads and random articles you’ll find on google.
Google isn’t the end all be all and is on its way out.
