Bengaluru’s waste management is being handed to a single private entity in a Rs 39,437 crore, 30-year monopoly. With a 5% annual escalation and cost escalation of Rs 6,389 crore over initial estimates, it is a fiscal trap for which citizens will have to pay dearly in the future.
