Turks take pride in building 16 empires, ruling across three continents, conquering Istanbul, and founding INDEPENDENT STATES. Australians take pride in seeing a 10 year old kid cry. Honestly, that’s just pathetic.
European Union Delegation 🇪🇺 to Türkiye 🇹🇷:
“The cancellation of CHP congresses raises serious concerns regarding judicial independence in Türkiye.
Democracy, the rule of law, and respect for fundamental rights are at the core of the EU accession process.
The voice of the Turkish people must be heard.”
What’s happening in Turkey is not “Stalin-level stuff.” Much of what Erdoğan has done, and continues to do, has been made possible by Western enablement. His European and American “friends” have repeatedly come to his aid whenever his position was under pressure.
İstanbul Bilgi University — one of 🇹🇷 most internationally recognized private universities — has officially lost its operating license by presidential decree published in the Resmî Gazete.
What actually happened?👇
🔸️The government says the university’s founding foundation had been placed under trustee (“kayyım”) control as part of the broader Can Holding/TMSF investigations.
🔸️Under Turkish higher education law, this allowed the state to revoke the university’s authorization to operate.
Important detail ⚠️There is currently no public evidence that Bilgi was shut down because of academic failure or low educational standards.
This is one of the biggest interventions in Turkish higher education in years — and it appears tied more to trustee/governance issues and the Can Holding investigation than academic quality.
Turkey’s president has already squeezed much of the life out of his country’s democracy. At this rate, Turks may soon have no genuine opposition to vote for https://t.co/Bnm2qvtufp

Tesadüf mü?
Erdoğan’ın İmamoğlu gözaltına alınmadan 3 gün önce (16 Mart 2025) ve CHP için mutlak butlan kararı çıkmadan 1 gün önce (20 Mayıs 2026) Trump ile telefon görüşmesi yaptığı ortaya çıktı.
The end of Turkiye's stumbling democracy.

A day after Erdoğan speaks with Trump, he has shut down Bilgi University, among Turkey’s leading private universities, by decree, without explanation. Bilgi had been a thorn on his side. The timing is unlikely to be coincidental. Hours earlier, also after the Erdoğan-Trump exchange, a court effectively replaced the leader of the main opposition party, CHP. It looks like Erdoğan received a green light to turn Turkey into an even harsher dictatorship.
Turkey in 24 hours:
• Court sacks main opposition leader
• The Central Bank sells nearly $8bn to stop the panics in the markets
• Erdogan closes Bilgi University in the middle of the academic term
• He also bans municipalities from establishing new companies
Another major factor that shouldn’t be overlooked:
The war benefits the hardliners currently calling the shots in Iran, they could opt to attack us 1st & on their terms.
Our blockade & presence on Iran’s borders justifies the hardliners positions.
If we leave now we take away the ability for Iran to strike 1st & erode the unifying factor (resistance against U.S./Israel) central to the hardliners power.
Leaving now = Reduce risk, increase leverage.
