Janis Joplin hangs out at the corner of Haight and Cole streets in San Francisco back in early 1967. Photographer Peter Larsen caught this great candid shot of her. Just a few months later, her explosive performance at the Monterey Pop Festival would change rock music forever.
The Doors pull off a classic hit-and-run photo shoot behind the lobby glass of the Morrison Hotel in downtown L.A. back on December 17, 1969. Photographer Henry Diltz caught this iconic shot.
The band really wanted to use this specific, run-down transient hotel on South Hope Street because it fit the raw, blues-rock vibe of their upcoming album perfectly. But when they showed up with Diltz, the desk clerk told them they absolutely couldn't take pictures inside without the owner's permission.
They went back outside, totally bummed, and started taking a few basic shots on the sidewalk. But then, Diltz noticed the clerk step away to ride the elevator upstairs. He immediately yelled at the guys to run inside! Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, John Densmore, and Robby Krieger sprinted through the front doors, scrambled right behind the big glass window, and Diltz fired off a quick roll of film from the street before the clerk ever came back. That exact renegade moment ended up becoming the official cover art for one of their greatest albums.

A keyboard warrior is demonstrating a complete lack of understanding.
The people casually calling for the “dissolution” of Russia, the enslavement of its people, and the mass execution of its leadership are not making clever geopolitical points.
They are demonstrating a dangerous ignorance of history and physics.
In 1918 the entire Western world with armies on Russian soil from Arkhangelsk to Vladivostok tried exactly this.
They failed.
Russia emerged more centralized, more paranoid, and more determined than before.
A nuclear-armed state with 140+ million people and the world’s largest landmass does not dissolve on command.
Any serious attempt triggers its survival doctrine.
The result is not a better world. It is radioactive ruins from which no one wins.
Worse, this rhetoric is self-fulfilling.
When an entire people hear influential voices in the West openly fantasize about their enslavement and extermination, they stop listening to moderates.
They rally around the strongest hand that promises to protect them. Every such post strengthens the very forces it claims to oppose.
Great powers do not commit suicide because strangers on the internet demand it.
They fight.
And when they fight with nuclear weapons on the table, the bill is paid by everyone including the keyboard strategists who thought destruction was a policy.
The mature position is not to pretend Russia can be wished out of existence.
It is to accept that stable coexistence with major powers has always been the only alternative to catastrophe.
Anything else is not toughness.
It is reckless fantasy that makes real peace harder and war more likely.
Think twice before cheering for the end of nations.
ВСУ оставляют Константиновку уже официально...С такими видео можно не отрицать...Последний бой, Констаха...Обожгло так, что только в портках на выход...
🇺🇦 "Return the dog"
In the Odessa region, Zelensky's officers tried to forcefully conscript a man walking his dog but failed. The officers took the dog instead and ran into their vans.
The little pup was later found in a different location with a broken leg. Just no words...
On the 12 year anniversary since the Odessa massacre, where Ukrainian ultra-nationalists burned 48 people alive in Odessa Trade Union House, let's remember what Russia is fighting against. We will never forget or forgive.
Warning: This video is not for the light hearted.

In 1839, Chinese Imperial Commissioner Lin Zexu confiscated and destroyed 20,000 chests of British-controlled opium in Canton - approximately 1,400 tons.
He wrote a letter to Queen Victoria asking her to stop the trade: “Where is your conscience? Let us ask, where is your conscience?”
The Queen never responded. Instead, Britain sent warships.
The First Opium War (1839–1842) was not a war over trade disputes or diplomatic insults. It was a war to force a sovereign nation to accept the importation of an addictive narcotic that was destroying its population - because that narcotic was the most profitable commodity in the British Empire’s Asian trade.
This thread is the story of how the world’s most powerful empire went to war - twice - to protect a drug cartel’s revenue. 🧵
