@trabkouszek@IHateYourJorts As someone from NYC I had similar questions before traveling in other parts of the country and unfortunately the answer is, almost everyone has a car and those who don't are fucked.
@emilykmay At brunch time, a car would likely take double the time as the subway. Some women in the comments said they'd expect it bc of dressing up/wearing heels, but as someone who's been wearing heels getting around NYC since I was about 13 I call BS Sounds like they're just incompatible
@emilykmay Same for taking care of the elderly. I had to go through external appeals (that go before a judge) for each grandparent to get the coverage they need. If it wasn't for 100s of hours of my time + a social worker advocate, they'd be left alone/unsafe most of the time.
@emilykmay I think it depends on how ppl live+ work. The apt I grew up in is 1200 sq ft and it still feels pretty enormous to me. BUT my parents both primarily worked outside the home while I was growing up and now both work from home, and that's just enough space for 2 ppl to work daily.
@merrydevo I work remotely at a corporate job. Some days I barely have time to eat and walk my dog. That's definitely not enough flexibility for simultaneous full-time childcare.
@emilykmay Men love imagining themselves as heroes in extreme situations that will never happen instead of just being halfway decent in their actual everyday lives.
@Domricci4@Mezcal_Worm@CantEverDie It's legally the responsibility of the landlord/owner to clear the sidewalk in front of each building, not the city.
@promptandearly@CartoonsHateHer Bc the men who complain about this stuff don't have a problem with being disciplined or even abused by other men ... They are mad about women having any authority over them, ever, at any point in their lives.
@adesertdryad Also the biggest study done on this, with the biggest population and longest follow-up showed Tylenol is fine. Sincerely, ttc for a year now without my migraine meds, you will pry my Tylenol from my cold dead fingers.
@mattxiv I think people are just excited by news that is bonkers but not evil or tragic. (Obviously no one should be doxing or DMing anyone involved, but let ppl enjoy silly memes for a minute.)
