Wanted to get into something creative as I finished my engineering degree. Plans didn't work out and got a job as a front-end developer and discovered UX. Started doing UX work as part of my role, did side projects and eventually got a Masters in HCI.
I'll leave you with one more idea from @asallen
“In Product Design, we sprinkle a touch of 'delight' on key moments—colorful illustrations in our onboarding, confetti for major milestone reached. In reality, it’s the mundane, everyday interactions that need our attention most.”
I've been on a mission lately.
The more that I talk to designers working on ultra-high-quality products...
The more I want to understand what it takes to establish a culture of craft.
After months I'm starting to notice some clear patterns 👇
Every so often a thread or two goes viral railing against “frameworks” and “methods” for building great products. They always end the same way:
“I don’t care what method you use as long as you’re talking to customers, collecting evidence, learning quickly and pivoting.”
:-)
🫶🏽 I want to share my excitement for my generation of Indian product designers:
We started out with a deficit compared to intnl designers. We were the first to get as much exposure and learning as we did. In our country, we watched our niche fought-after hobbies turn into the...
Many early stage founders misunderstand design
They end up with a product that feels fractured, cluttered, and inconsistent
To develop a well designed product, you need to know what NOT to do. These are the 5 most common pitfalls to avoid 🧵

My name is Ayo and I am a 22 yr old engineering student. This summer I launched the FIRST #blackowned premium bendable hanger startup. I created this hanger to solve frustrating shoulder bumps. I would love your support with a purchase at https://t.co/uDetwSkx74 or retweet!
One of the most challenging aspects of design in enterprise is the ability to focus the organization on a user in vs. business unit out view of the world.
The larger the business & org, the harder it is to avoid making your org structure visible through your user experience.
Folks in tech tend to overemphasize solutions and under emphasize problem identification. I’ve heard so many variations of “don’t complain if you aren’t also thinking of solutions” (our equivalent of “only those who vote can complain”).
