The issue why people are struggling with this are the axioms, foundational beliefs.
The foundational belief that makes people angry with this is the belief that physical health in itself is good or material comfort in itself is good.
But God is the good. And God's will for us is to be reconciled to Him.
And that's why what the gospel guarantees is Reconciliation to God which will be perfected at our glorification when we see Jesus face to face.
People don't realise that even if you're healed of sickness, you will still die. Lazarus is dead, again.
Even if you're rich, you will still die.
So when people ask "how can it be the will of God for us to be sick or poor", they're asking from an "American" view of this world, where the goal of life is the American dream of balling.
Christians started thinking like this very recently. This thing became a thing in the 70s. And it was Americans that brought it here.
God doesn't see good in terms of temporary material situations. God sees good for us in terms of knowing and enjoying Him. God wills good in terms of ETERNITY.
This is the understanding and mindset of the Apostles. This is why they could make some statements you will not hear many prosperity preachers say today.
This is why Paul will say he is eager to fill up the sufferings that Jesus didn't endure 😂
Paul will say we have been given a privilege to suffer.
Paul seems weird to us to say he is boasting in his weakness because it keeps him humble. Paul was proud of his demonic affliction.
These kinds of things you can't even begin to understand today that America has warped Christian understanding of GOOD.
It's why when Peter will quote Is 53 he insists that by His stripes we are healed from SIN. Peter didn't use that scripture for physical sickness. Because Peter understood that the real sickness, the worst sickness is sin.
Peter will say that even though you're going through many tribulations, it's is good because it's purifying your faith and securing your etern reward.
In the Bible, the will of God is to know God and enjoy Him irrespective of your material situation.
The will of God is not riches in itself or health in itself. It's why both old testament saints and new testament saints endured poverty and sickness in their service to God.
And God ordained and received their sacrifice. And blessed them.
Today, they're not poor or sick anymore. He has wiped away their sorrow.
So whenever I see someone say "the will of God for us it to be rich or healthy" or "salvation is a complete package that saves us from poverty and sickness"...
I just know the person has not read the Bible through. The person has only heard a shallow perspective from America.
But it's good to be patient with people. Give them time. Preach the truth in and our of season.
Eventually, most Christians accept it. This broken world that God subjected to futility on purpose will show you.
The minority who refuse to accept it will struggle with cognitive dissonance. Which is usually very sad to watch.
Being "able bodied" is temporary, you will age, you will get injured, you will get sick and you will wish you fought more for the system to protect the vulnerable.
Aswear this is the same thing with myself and my mom. Captures it perfectly!!! Like sometimes my mom feels like she's behind on like Bible interpretation and all, in my head I'm like you're ahead on obedience which is the most important thing.
@soymeii It's true, sometimes we don't fully grasp the impact of our experiences until we share them with others. Those moments of silence can be eye-opening, reminding us of the weight of our stories and the strength it took to endure them. Sharing can be a powerful step towards healing.
