The Common Religious Values:
Anger/Hatred / Wrath
Buddhism -One should control anger. Hatred is damaging to mankind. A true disciple is free from all passions including WRATH.
Hinduism - ANGER breeds confusion. Bhagavad Gita II/63
Christianity - Let all bitterness and wrath and ANGER and clamour and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. Be kind and forgive. Ephesians- 4:31, 32.
Islam - The strong man is only he who controls himself - Abu Huraira reported God's messenger saying.
Personality Traits Developed by Following Yamas-
1. Ahimsa (Non-violence)
Cultivates:
- Empathy and compassion
- Emotional intelligence and sensitivity
- Conflict resolution skills
- Patient and gentle demeanor
- Reduces aggression, anger, and impulsivity.
Your mind is like a horse: eager to wander and graze. You, as the rider, must hold the reins firmly, guiding it towards your intended destination, rather than being dragged along by its whims.
5.Brahmacharya - living in alignment with Brahman’s principles, maintaining equanimity in life’s ups and downs, and dedicating the early phase of life to holistic learning (spiritual and practical) to prepare for societal responsibilities
The Yamas are the first of the eight limbs of yoga outlined in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. They are a set of five ethical guidelines that focus on our interactions with the external world.
1.Ahimsa (Non violence) - not to injure anybody physically, mentally or intellectually.
2.Satya (Truthfulness) - to speak the truth and follow the righteous path in all activities.
3.Asteya (non stealing)- not to take anything not belonging to oneself.
4.Aparigraha (Non possessiveness)- to reduce ones needs to the minimum and avoid hoarding of things not required.
@anmol2312@ShwetaKukreja_ There should be a solution to this. Maybe in schools kids should be lectured to make them understand how social media works. Along with love likes and validation there is a dark side too which should be understood.
