@Jonnybgbold Return should be in the realm of Eichel & Hughes. He’s not as good of a player as either, but 5 years remaining on his contract below market makes him just as valuable asset wise. Hughes who had 1.5 years left and wouldn’t agree to extension and Eichel had spine injury situation.
@Jonnybgbold Objectively a top 20-25 center in the league, who would be a luxury on either team at 2C. 30 goal scorer, high end defensive metrics, signed for 5 more years below market value and in his prime for another 3 years. Captain of his team and one of USAs best players at Olympics.
Oh you want out so badly that you gave us three whole teams, two of which already win all the Cups plus one with no assets left to make a decent offer? Cool, you have five years left on your contract, see you at practice.
@AnaheimDucks & @utahmammoth feel like the best trade partners for #LGRW and Larkin. Hoping he’s willing to waive for them. Both made playoffs and could truly compete for a cup in ~2 years.
Anaheim - McQueen, Solberg, 2027 1st
Utah - Desnoyers or Iginla, Simashev, 2026 1st
MBN is bruiser & has an elite shot/scoring ability. Being off wing allows for one timers.
Danielson & Kasper both have a lot of speed & can transport the puck
Danielson is a high end playmaker
Kasper is also a bruiser & good at both scoring/playmaking but not elite at either
@LGRWProspects And they passed on all of these guys:
Lacombe (‘19)
Protas (‘19)
Peterka (‘20)
Faber (‘20)
Cuylie (‘20)
Nikishin (‘20)
Josh Doan (‘21)
Stankoven (‘21)
Knies (‘21)
Moser (‘21)
Lane Hutson (‘22)
Another @DetroitRedWings with no urgency, physicality, or playing with desperation like playoffs are on the line… against a bottom 5 team in the league.
Ottawa was on the second half of a road back-to-back, 5th game in their last 7 days, 5 defensemen hurt (incl. Sanderson & Chabot), rookie making his NHL debut in the lineup, trailing Detroit by 1 point in the playoff race.
And the Red Wings lost in regulation. Pathetic. #LGRW
@RyanHanaWWP Add in that the @DetroitRedWings were back to full health, it was their captain / best players first game back which you’d think would be a boost, and they had a 3 day break.
@Michaeladen7@Nntarno555@aseparatemind If they picked once per draft in the 2nd, it would be are excusable to not find an impact player. But they were drafting 2-3 times per 2nd round and have come away with one 3rd pair defenseman and maybe a couple more bottom pair dmen or bottom 6 forwards.
@Michaeladen7@Nntarno555@aseparatemind The thread was analyzing 19-22. I hope to god 2023 & on is better. But from 19-22 there isnt a single impact player drafted outside of the 1st. Bottom pair d-men and bottom 6 forwards are nice finds, but when you have 9 2nd round picks, you gotta find at least one impact player.
@Michaeladen7@aseparatemind I don’t get paid millions of dollars to be a General Manger or director of scouting. I didn’t say I would take any of these players over the guys we drafted, but it’s not my job. This is how you judge if a GM and scouting team is succeeding or not…
@aseparatemind So I think at this point it’s very fair to critique Yzermans drafting outside of the 1st round. Those early year players have had enough time to develop into impact players and they haven’t.
@aseparatemind Aljo is the only one to play games & he’s a 3rd pair dman. 3 guys aren’t in the org.
They’ve passed on all of these guys:
Lacombe (‘19)
Protas (‘19)
Peterka (‘20)
Faber (‘20)
Cuylie (‘20)
Nikishin (‘20)
Josh Doan (‘21)
Stankoven (‘21)
Knies (‘21)
Moser (‘21)
Lane Hutson (‘22)
Not a single @DetroitRedWings player plays with intensity, desperation, or like their season is on the line. It’s pathetic. Out here watching 4th liners on Dallas out work every single Red Wing… when is enough enough? Are they really going fumble a playoff spot in March again?
@Tiger_Lifer@confusion_reign To be fair the intent of this post was I didn’t want to trade away Turnbull or Boyd because I was tired of tanking and wanted to compete (and they were filthy back then). Thought they had the pieces to build an elite rotation with who was in the org already.
