Absolutely dismayed that the Assisted Dying Bill is being re-introduced. Not a single one of our major medical or professional bodies support it. A deeply flawed and dangerous bill that poses a real risk to the most vulnerable in our society.

I sincerely hope we wake up tomorrow morning to a Scotland that prioritises care over killing, where doctors can be trusted to ‘first do no harm’, where hospices and care homes are not forced to close because they object to helping people to kill themselves, and where the poorest and most vulnerable are not coerced to choose death.

His guards were moved by his patience and charity. As a result, the authorities frequently rotated them to prevent them from being converted or influenced too deeply by his witness.
