In Ephesians 5:33, Paul summarizes the responsibilities he has been emphasizing:

Husbands: “Each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself.”
Wives: “The wife must respect her husband.”

Paul highlights love for husbands and respect for wives because those are the particular exhortations he is stressing in this passage.

He is not saying husbands don’t need to respect their wives or that wives don’t need to love their husbands.

Elsewhere in Scripture, wives are explicitly instructed to love their husbands. For example:

Titus 2:4 says that older women are to train the younger women “to love their husbands and children.”

So, when you put Scripture together:

A husband is to love, honor, cherish, and live considerately with his wife (Ephesians 5:25–29; 1 Peter 3:7).

A wife is to love and respect her husband (Titus 2:4; Ephesians 5:33).

I always suggest we avoid focusing on only one Bible verse but compare all the relevant verses about a topic to understand the full Biblical context of Jehovah’s will.
