The UK Government does not seem to understand how basic economics works.

Rishi Sunak and Jeremy Hunt decided to put out the inflation fire by pouring a jerry can of petrol onto it.

The UK National Living wage is going up by 9.8% for those 21 and older.

For 18-20 year olds it is going up 14.8%

For 16-17 and apprentices, it is going up 21.2%.

The UK is already in a wage-price spiral with wages running ahead of inflation and many public sector workers getting huge increases and one-off bonuses last summer.

It really doesn't take that many brain cells to understand the dire consequences here.

The level of incompetence in this government is staggering.
