California's governor declared an emergency over wildfires, many sparked by record heat and extreme lightning storms.

On Tuesday, 6,000 lightning strikes ignited 200+ fires in northern CA alone.

At least 30 fires are raging statewide; fire crews are "stretched thin."

Inmate firefighters are helping fight California's fires, though some teams aren't available due to #COVID19 quarantines and releases.

They are paid as little as $2-5/day and are often blocked from getting firefighting jobs after release due to past convictions.
