This is not wellness, this is glamorized anorexia. This is disordered eating. This is starvation, and this is also way too common among women, especially especially white women.

Even when a parent had an abusive childhood they had a responsibility to protect, not abuse, their children. We really need to start having the cultural conversation that not everyone is meant to parent.
It is really so hard for some people to accept that people that present happy outwardly can be struggling so much internally. A happy face doesn’t define what is going on for someone.
Everything is starting to feel very Doomsday and apocalyptic and I'm not even being dramatic. The price gouging, climate change, supply shortages everywhere, the pandemic, the healthcare crisis, the violence etc....
It's too much sometimes.
i don’t really wanna see any of the “you never know what people are going through” discourse today because, in all honesty, y’all aren’t any kinder when you do.
Women have an extra hurdle in getting their needs met because of the collective conditioning is that: "good" women are selfless, have very little needs, and their role is simply to meet the needs of other people.
As a society, we have to evolve how we see addiction. Addiction is an attempt at self soothing. When our needs aren't met, and we don't learn how to self regulate: we are primed for addictive behavior.
It's a response.
