in terms of the overusage of studs, i think it only becomes slop to me when you can tell the builder/modeller dgaf, like the shit you see in grow a garden looks really ugly
other builds that use studs as a aesthetic look fine thou, stuff like sewh or forsaken from what ive seen

the whole retroslop avatar stuff is funny cuz to me retroslop has always been those types of avatars that "mimic" classic avatars by wearing 1 hat and using bodycolors whilst ignoring the entire existance of old packages and 2D clothing
