Last year, over 15,000 pupils in England were suspended for racist behaviour — more than double the number in 2021.
Some were just four years old.

This isn’t just a statistic — it’s a warning.
Too many children are growing up where division and prejudice take root before empathy has a chance to grow.

That’s why we were thrilled that over 300,000 children joined our Great Big Live Assembly for Black History Month — to hear stories of hope, courage, and belonging from inspiring voices.
We wanted every child who faces racism to know: you are seen, valued, and loved.

At Sanctuary Foundation, we’re building a movement of kindness, compassion, and hospitality — in schools, communities, and across the nation.

Really enjoyed speaking with fellow youth leaders about listening well to young people at Ely’s children and youth work conference yesterday. So many good questions and reflections in the room and I enjoyed just being there with brilliant people for the day 😊

Today we did some Kintsugi prayers for our world as we explored the idea of intercession prayer in youth group. It was also great for the young people to share about church on the run and how much money they’ve raised (over £1,000!)

- Creating an exploring faith booklet written by young people for young people
