I am delighted to be at Olive School, Namugongo, for the school's AI and Innovation Expo, where I am interacting with some of Uganda's brightest young innovators.

I am inspired by the creativity and capability of these learners, who, under the guidance of their teachers and mentors, are using artificial intelligence, science, engineering, and the creative arts to develop practical solutions to challenges facing our communities. From plastic waste recycling, hydraulic bridge systems, and solar-powered automotive technologies to painting, digital design, and other creative arts, these young people are demonstrating that innovation has no age.

This is exactly the mindset we must nurture if we are to build a science-led, technology-driven, and innovation-powered Uganda. Our responsibility is to continue supporting and believing in these young innovators so that today's ideas become tomorrow's industries and national solutions.

Today, I am privileged to join the Olive School Namugongo community for the AI and Innovation Expo, where I have witnessed compelling evidence that Uganda's future will be engineered not merely in lecture halls and laboratories, but also in classrooms that deliberately cultivate curiosity, creativity, scientific reasoning, and the spirit of discovery from an early age. Faithful to its motto, Solus Enim Deus ("For God Alone"), Olive School demonstrates that faith, excellence, and innovation are complementary pillars of transformative leadership. Its mission to educate, nurture, train, and thoroughly equip learners by developing talents and imparting knowledge, wisdom, values, proficiencies, and life skills necessary to fulfil their God-ordained purpose is laying the foundation for a generation of principled innovators and visionary leaders.

The ingenuity displayed by these young learners is both intellectually refreshing and strategically significant. Their work in artificial intelligence, robotics, engineering design, automation, environmental innovation, and digital technologies affirms that the Fourth Industrial Revolution is no longer a distant aspiration but a reality taking root within Uganda's education system. Olive School's vision of becoming a transformative institution renowned for holistic education and producing resourceful, responsible, disciplined leaders and global change agents is clearly reflected in the innovations showcased today. This is precisely the ecosystem we must strengthen if Uganda is to transition from a consumer of technology to a creator of globally competitive solutions.

As Minister responsible for Science, Technology and Innovation, I remain unwavering in my conviction that investing in young innovators is an investment in Uganda's technological sovereignty and economic transformation. Every prototype conceived today carries the potential to become tomorrow's enterprise, industry, or national solution. The innovations I have witnessed reaffirm that when education intentionally cultivates discovery, critical thinking, moral character, and scientific excellence, it produces innovators capable of transforming nations. My commitment is to continue advancing policies and partnerships that empower our young minds to imagine boldly, invent fearlessly, pursue discovery, and build the Uganda of the future.

Hon. Otto, let me put this to you plainly. I will keep reminding you of your own parliamentary theatrics because they are directly relevant to the mess you now pretend to critique. SGS. the very firm the Ministry had mandated to inspect buses twice a year and other commercial vehicles did not fail on its own. You and a handful of loud opportunists engineered that failure.

You personally asked me for UGX 2 million so you could “keep quiet” in plenary, as though road safety or SGS was my private business and not a national obligation. You made noise anyway. You derailed the process anyway. MPs on the Physical Infrastructure Committee asked me for UGX 300 Million. My bosses wanted jobs without interviews. And because of that noise, government paid UGX 109 billion in damages. That is not abstract blame, it is a direct financial consequence of your conduct.

So yes, you let the country down. And other officials joined you. But your fingerprints are on the steering wheel of that failure, and no amount of shouting will erase that.

Moved by the spirit of giving, compassion, and community, she expressed sincere gratitude to all organizers, partners, volunteers, and community members who showed up—especially those who donated blood as a powerful act of kindness.

Special appreciation goes to @nankunda20 (@RaisingTeensUg2) for the kind invitation and inspiring leadership.

Together, we continue to build resilience, save lives, and promote kindness through service to humanity. As we mark World Good Deeds Day, let us lead by example and keep the spirit of “ubuntu” alive, she added.
